Dipping Fresh Fruit in Chocolate

Dip fresh fruit in dark chocolate like a pro using these simple steps! If you follow them carefully, you will  always be a success. This is a basic recipe but you can upgrade by adding your favorite toppings: chopped nuts, cookie pieces, or sprinkles!

List of ingredients and tools:

  1. Dark chocolate, finely chopped
  2. Fresh fruit, of choice
  3. Medium glass bowl
  • For ease of dipping, you may want to transfer your melted chocolate to a smaller bowl. That way the dipping area is deeper and there's less rim of the bowl to get in your way.
  • Once your chocolate is ready for dipping, work quickly but without hurrying. Set up your workspace in advance so everything you need is at hand.
  • For best quality, fruit must be eaten in 24 hours.
  • Store in the refrigerator until served. Remove from the fridge and allow 10 minutes to rest at room temperature before removing the cover or wrap; this prevents condensation.
  • Upgrade your dipped fruit by adding toppings! Make sure you add toppings after fruit is dipped and placed on a baking sheet. Let the dipped fruit sit for about 20 seconds before adding topping or they will drip right off your fruit!
  • Look for our video on our social channels to see the process!

What to do with leftover chocolate....

  • Store: Pour chocolate out onto a lined sheet tray to harden. Break it up and store at room temperature. Use within a week due to fruit bits left in behind.
  • Nut clusters: Add some roasted nuts to chocolate and add spoonfuls of mixture to the lined baking sheet.  Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator to set for 10 minutes. Store clusters in an airtight container for up to 7 days.
  • Bark: Pour chocolate out onto a lined sheet tray and top with your favorite snacks; nuts, dried fruit and candy! Once the bark has set; break it up into individual pieces and enjoy for the next week!
