Green Tea Pound Cake

This recipe is for a vanilla pound cake with green tea chocolate glaze, using our Jasmine Green Tea, Turkish Bay Leaf, and Lemon chocolate bar. The cake itself has a straightforward flavor, leaving the stage open for the beautiful green tea, bay leaf, lemon, and chocolate of the glaze. You will surprise and delight your guests serving this after your meal with a cup of coffee.

Ingredients:

9 ounces all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
8 ounces butter, soft
8.5 ounces granulated sugar
4 eggs, room temperature
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk, room temperature

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit

Grease and flour a loaf pan- set aside

Sift flour and add to a medium bowl; add baking powder and salt.

Using a hand mixer or standing mixer, add butter and sugar.

Mix on medium-high until it is light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time and then vanilla extract.

Mix on medium until well combined.

Scrape the mixing bowl to make sure everything is properly combined.

Add half the milk with half the flour mixture, mix on low.

Add the other half of the milk and flour mixture and mix on low.

Do not over mix- mix until the flour just disappears.

Scrap the bowl and gently mix until combined.

Pour batter into a prepared loaf pan and place in a preheated oven.

Bake for about an hour

Test if the cake is done by using a skewer and poke it in the middle to see if it comes out clean.

Cool for ten minutes then carefully remove from the pan and cool completely.

Chocolate Glaze

Ingredients:

(1) 3.5 ounce Green tea, Turkish bay leaf and lemon spiced bar- chopped
2 tablespoons of softened butter

Directions:

Add butter and chocolate to a medium size microwavable glass bowl

Place in microwave at 50% power , set for 45 seconds seconds- then stir

Place back into microwave and set for 15 second intervals until completely melted.

Set aside until thickened but still pour-able

Pour chocolate over the pound cake.

Let it rest for 1 hour to set.
